So you're probably wondering, "What happened to Polaris?"

When a star gets older sometimes it goes through a process called a nova or supernova. This is when the elements in a star's core go through a chemical change, usually fusion and then explode outwards into the universe. Sadly, yesterday, this happened to Polaris, the North Star. It's a sad event to lose the North Star, but I believe it still exists, just in a different form. The spirit of the North Star will never die, even if its coporeal body no longer exists. It is a well documented star and this supernova will go down in history and get people more interested in astronomy.
